Roses have long been the symbol of love
Some are warm, others are passionate,
still others are like a bride's blush
at the impending nightfall.  .

The gardens around the neighbourhood are filled
with colours reflective of their owner.

Some are exuberant, others more subdued.

Though not the most colourful,
the grasses are lovely
to the eye of the beholder.
While the beauty of many cultivated flowers last but a moment, the highways and byways are covered with wild flowers that thrive healthily on what has been provided by nature, and despite our human-made pollution.

Waiting for the sun to enhance
the colour of the flowers,
I look up to the sky and behold
the embracing of the sun
by the most subtle hues of  grey.

Not readily found in the city,
water lilies have been regarded as
some of the noblest flowers
by the Chinese.
Water lilies are hollow and humble
in the core,
straight outwardly
and they come out of the swamp
without being contaminated.
Lavender,
the frangrant herb of healing with its delicate flowers,
is pleasing to my heart.
My mind is often carried to the Lavender fields in Provence
and the very pleasant time I spent there
once with my family a long time ago.

The French impressionist Claude Monet literally treated his garden
at Giverny as a large canvas and painted it with flowers.
His is perhaps the closest to the colour splash of our Artist.
